Failed Smog Check? Don't despair. There are two programs that can help.
You may qualify up to $500 assistance with auto repairs on vehicles that fail their Smog Check. To learn more about the Consumer Assistance Program (CAP) and to get an application, read the Consumer Assistance Fact Sheet on California's Bureau of Automoive Repair site.
Second program is VRRRM. Consumers who fail the emissions portion of their smog inspection may receive assistance from VRRRM, up to $800 to fund approved emissions related repairs.
